Glacier Snow-The only sure thing this time of year!

Just returned from Stubai Austriawhere the snow was soft, the sky azure, and the sun spectacular. Due to a crazy fluke, and a near death intestinal experience of a dear friend, my sister and I ended up not going to Switzerland as planned. Turns out that was a lucky break. Talking to friends who went to Switzerland -- the hotel was marginal, and the skiing almost non-existent. On one of the days the lifts were closed by 10 due to high winds. In contrast - we had good quality snow, still air, sunny skies and temps in the mid 40s. Additionally the umbrella bar had been updated to an indoor/outdoor melting pot of Italians, Swiss, Austrian, German, and Solvakian snow seekers. And then there was the hotel. The Sauna was a hut that had to be sprinted to -- the bare ass 50 yard dash across the moonlit Alpine meadow. By the end of the trip I think I saw more of my travel mates then I really ever wanted to ... but there were some interesting tattoos.
